The Lotus Light

Agriculture

The Lotus Light is a one-of-a-kind agriculture tool that keeps your plants growing at night as if it were day. With its ergonomic weatherproof design, this multifunctional device is suitable for any environment. Outdoor crops can be provided more than the standard 12 hours of sunlight greatly decreasing growth time and making for an early harvest. Then just as favorable is the Lotus Light's indoor potential with it's ability to be harnessed as a freestanding light rather than ceiling hung. Simply set it up on the ground, plug it in, and let the plants thrive to their full beauty.

Advanced Potential

This easily transported multifunctional device could potentially have a vital role in all Mars missions. It is equipped with solar arrays that charge the device's internal batteries that would then be capable of charging other small electronics. The panels can automatically tilt towards the sun for optimal solar charging or can fold in entirely when high winds are detected. Extreme winds will require utility cords anchoring the panels to the ground. As a route guidance device, its priority source of battery use will be keeping the navigation lights lit for lost Martians. These low powered LEDs are fixed on opposite sides of the device, one green pointing towards the Mars central base, and one red pointing away. Other priorities for battery usage will be communication through linked Lotus Lights. This can also be used to send sensory data back to base making a web that would function as the nervous system for our Mars civilization. Powerful LEDs on the underside of the panels will be roadside lighting for night navigation along designated safe routes or by folding the panels upwards for large area lighting. Perhaps you broke down and you're running out of air, just activate emergency mode; lights will strobe and a signal will be sent to Mars central. Finally, the general purpose LED bulbs can be switched out for agricultural LEDs and placed inside habitats without having to utilize the habitat's ceiling to hang grow lights.
